36th Annual WE Fest wraps up with World Record

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) - The 36th annual WE Fest country music festival came to a close Saturday, but not before a world record was made.
The Blue Sky Cowboys, a group of annual WE Fest attenders and 287 participants broke the world record, Friday for largest tippy cup game played.
The group beat the previous record by more than 80 participants.The largest game was 200 participants, set by the Chicago Cubs on June 3, 2016.
Saturday, Jason Aldean wrapped up the annual country music festival as the headliner in front of thousands of specators.
This year's festival was met with mixed reviews with many participants noting a lower turnout than expected.
The 37th WE Fest will take place Aug. 1-3, 2019. Chris Stapleton was announced Friday as its first headliner.
