ST. CLOUD (KNSI) - Police say a little girl was injured when she was dropped from the balcony of a 3rd floor apartment in St. Cloud.
The St. Cloud Police Department says it happened around 4:40 p.m. Sunday at an apartment building in the 1900 block of Quarry Road.
A witness told police they saw a man holding the girl by the wrists, and then the man let go, and the girl fell to the ground.
The 4-year-old suffered a broken ankle when she hit the parking lot below.
She was taken to St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, identified as the girl's uncle, 33-year-old Baraka Mohamed Ahmed, left the scene.
Police caught up with the man later in the night and arrested him.
Police say Ahmed is non-verbal and has developmental issues.
He was taken to the Stearns County Jail where he's being held on charges of 3rd degree assault and domestic assault.
