(KNSI) - A boy hit by an allegedly drunk snowmobiler on a Chisago County Lake has died.
Alan Geisenkoetter Jr. succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
The 8-year-old suffered significant swelling in his brain, a bruised lung and many broken bones.
He and his family were preparing to go ice fishing on Chisago Lake Friday evening when a snowmobiler plowed through an ice house occupied by the boy and his father, clipping the family's pickup.
His father was also hurt, but not severely. His mother and sister weren't hurt.
The snowmobile driver, 45-year-old Eric Coleman of Chisago City, is facing two counts of criminal vehicular operation and drunken driving.
Officials say Coleman's license had already been revoked after one of three previous DUIs.
