Alexandria, MN (MNN) - An Alexandria man is okay after a close call on the thin ice of a Douglas County, Minnesota lake.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says 55-year-old Gregory Carlson was pulling his 14-foot fish house with a four-wheeler Sunday afternoon when they went through the ice on Lake Geneva.
Carlson was able to get out of the icy water and to a neighboring house.
Deputies say the ATV was mostly underwater and the fish house was partially submerged.
Carlson said he saw what appeared to be questionable ice but was unable to stop in time. Neighbors say ice on that area of the lake recently formed.
A private company removed Carlson's property from the water.
