DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) - Anglers in Minnesota will need to get their fishing shelters off the ice soon. The deadline to remove fish houses in the southern two-thirds of the state is Monday; the deadline in the northern third of the state is March 19.
The line runs roughly from Duluth to Moorhead by U.S. Hwy. 10, east along Hwy. 34 to Minnesota Hwy. 200, east along Hwy. 200 to U.S. Hwy. 2, and east along Hwy. 2 to the Minnesota-Wisconsin border.
Conservation officers have been out at lakes around the state warning anglers to remove their ice houses. Missing the deadline could lead to fines and risks the shacks ending up going through the ice.
