Appeals For Sjodin Killer Could Last Another Decade

(Grand Forks, ND) -- Experts say the appeals process for the killer of University of North Dakota student Dru Sjodin could continue for another decade. Alfonso Rodriguez of Crookston, Minnesota was convicted in 2006 of kidnapping and killing Sjodin and was sentenced to death. The U.S. Attorney who prosecuted the original case said over the weekend that there are few limits on Rodriguez's ability to appeal. A ruling is pending on Rodriguez's latest appeal, which wrapped up in February.
