DETROIT LAKES, MN--The Becker County Sheriff addresses public concern over door-to-door vacuum salesmen. Tuesday, Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander indicated a group of traveling vacuum salesmen appear to be legitimate. His office received a number of calls on Monday, July 17th, when a group of males were approaching residents in the Big Floyd/Cozy Cove Road area. The group was reported to be selling vacuum cleaners and possibly other cleaning supplies. They were driving a tan colored SUV bearing Oregon license plates.
On Tuesday, the described vehicle was located. The males were identified as representatives of a vacuum cleaner sales company known for doing business through door-to-door, in-home demonstrations. The group was advised of the concerns that were brought to the attention of Law Enforcement.
Sheriff Glander says while the group appears to be legit, anyone who comes to your door, use caution if you allow anyone inside your home. Report any suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Office or your local Law Enforcement agency immediately.
