Body Of Missing Akeley Woman Found

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says they have recovered the body of Kara Blevins, who was reported missing near Akeley earlier this month. She was found in a wooded area in the Chippewa National Forest in rural Akeley around 8:15 pm on Saturday February 17th. Blevens, 27, had not been seen since Friday February 2nd after leaving her mothers house and was reported missing on February 5th. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death remain under investigation. Her body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
Blevins was pregnant and leaves behind two young children.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, Akeley Police Department, BCA and the Minnesota State Patrol. The agencies involved would like to thank the public for their tips and information on this case.
