A Cold, Soggy October

DETROIT LAKES, MN--October was cold. Weather statistics compiled by Leighton Broadcasting show October's average high temperature was nine degrees cooler than last year and 10 degrees cooler than 2016. The average daytime high temperature was 49-degrees. In 2017, that average was 56-degrees and 57-degrees in 2016. The warmest daytime high temp was 74 degrees on October 19th. The coolest daytime high was 29 degrees on the 12th. The average overnight low was 33 degrees. The coolest overnight low was 15-degrees on October 12th and the warmest overnight low temperature was 50 degrees on October 14th. There were 14 days of recorded precipitation (rain and/or snow). The most rain was .91" recorded on October 26th. The most snow was .80" on October 11th. The snow total was 1.1". The total precipitation was 3.78"which was over an inch more than 2017's total of 2.60" and also more than 2016 when we recorded 1.63" of precipitation. The total precipitation for 2018 through October is 21.63".
