MINNEAPOLIS (LEARFIELD) - A Colorado woman may fight the government for fining her $500 after arriving at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport with an apple.
Crystal Tadlock says Delta Airlines flight attendants passed out apples in plastic bags as her flight from Paris was heading to Minneapolis. She says she put her apple in her carry-on bag so she could eat it on her flight home to Denver.
A Customs and Border Protection agent, who randomly searched her bag, imposed a $500 fine. US law requires all agricultural products to be declared at customs.
