DETROIT LAKES, MN--Construction has been halted at the site of the new Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes but the push to raise the final funds continues. Club Executive Director Pat Petermann says the demolition of the old building has been delayed by a few weeks. (Click here for details from Pat)
Petermann says in the meantime, with six-million raised, they are working on raising the final 450-thousand dollars for the project. As part of the final push, they are selling 8-inch-by-8-inch granite pavers for $150. He says you can see what the pavers look like and order them at the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce, or by calling the club. The pavers include six rows with up to nine letters each row for a tribute or memorial, on the 8x8 paver. The new club is expected to be finished in the fall of 2019. In the meantime, the Club is utilizing donated space at True Life Church and Grace Lutheran Church.
