A Cool, Albeit Cruel, Month Was April

DETROIT LAKES, MN--April was a cool, and maybe a little bit cruel, month. The weather stats for the fourth month of 2018 have been compiled by Leighton Broadcasting's Charlie Newland. The average daytime high was 43-degrees, a bit cooler than last year's average of 55-degrees. The warmest daytime high temp was 68 degrees on April 24th and April 30th. The average overnight low was 20-degrees which was 11-degrees cooler than the average overnight low for 2017. The coldest overnight low temperature was -4 on April 4th. The warmest overnight low temperature was 41-degrees on April 27th and the 30th. We had five days of snow fall in April, the most snow .5 inch fell twice on April 12th and the 16th. There was a total of 2.4 inches of snowfall in April bringing the total snowfall for the winter, October through April, to 64.95 inches, which melted totaled 7.69 inches of moisture.
