DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) - Detroit Lakes High School kicked off "Safe & Sober" week with the delivery of a truck that was involved in a crash that killed the intoxicated driver.
As Detroit Lakes High preps for Prom on Saturday, the truck serves as a reminder to students about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Alcohol-related crashes contributed to 98 deaths in Minnesota in 2017 according to the MN Department of Public Safety.
"Safe & Sober" week will include an assembly for students on Thursday with MN State Troopers making a presentation on Distracted driving and a Post Prom Party on Saturday for students to "have a safe ending to the Prom Season".
