DETROIT LAKES, MN--Detroit Lakes School Board officially begins its new meeting schedule tonight (March 11th). The school board adopted the new bi-monthly schedule in January as the board welcomed two new members and a new board chair. From this month forward, the board will hold a work-session-type meeting on the 2nd Monday of each month and the regular meeting will be on the 3rd Monday of each month. At the work sessions, the board will mostly hold discussions and hear presentations of information and save any voting for the regular meeting on the 3rd Monday. In the past, the regular meeting was held on the 2nd Monday of the month. The other big difference from past meetings is the change in time. Meetings now begin an hour earlier at 5:30 pm (which began in February).
The work sessions will be held at the High School Media room and the regular meetings on the 3rd Monday of the month will be at the Detroit Lakes City Council Chambers. Both meetings being at 5:30pm. The summer meetings, June through August, will continue on the 2nd and 3rd Mondays but will begin at 7:00am.
Tonight Detroit Lakes School Board work session agenda includes an update on the building projects by architect Brian Berg and discussion of the rest of this year's school calendar among other discussion items.
