DETROIT LAKES, MN--Charges have been filed in Becker County Court for an incident--an alleged scuffle--involving an off-duty Detroit Lakes cop and another man. Misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges were filed Friday against each man, 40 year old Robert Strand, also known as a Sergeant with DLPD and 35 year old Blake Andrew Sundvor, also known as Blake Mastin, both of Detroit Lakes. Each of the charges are to be prosecuted by the Clay County Attorney's office. To avoid any conflict of interest, the lead prosecutor change is due to one of the men facing charges, Strand has worked closely in his profession with the Becker County Attorney's office. The charges stem from the incident in which officers were called to the report of a brawl at a Detroit Lakes establishment after midnight December 24th. Strand is currently on administrative leave.
