(KNSI) - With the holiday festivities beginning this weekend, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is enforcing Operation Dry Water, a national campaign aimed at reducing the number of alcohol and drug related accidents and fatalities by stepping up patrols on Minnesota waterways.
Patrols for intoxicated boaters will increase from July 5th through the 7th as a statewide effort to crack down on boating while intoxicated.
Alcohol is involved in roughly 30 percent of fatal boating accidents in Minnesota.
