FARGO (KFGO) - An internal investigation has cleared a Fargo Catholic Diocese priest who had been under scrutiny for his alleged behavior with children. Spokesman Paul Braun tells KFGO News that Fr. Thomas Feltman "is a priest in good standing with the Diocese of Fargo.”
Feltman was pastor at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wyndmere and St. Arnold's Catholic Church in Milnor. He was placed on leave last May for what the diocese called "alleged conduct" involving his interaction with youth.
In July, Feltman was cleared in a separate criminal investigation. Richland County States Attorney Ron McBeth said that while Feltman inappropriately touched girls, there was no evidence it was done for sexual reasons.
Braun says the diocese has completed its review and says Feltman has been re-assigned as chaplain at the Sacred Heart Convent in Fargo.
Fr. Troy Simonson is the new pastor for St. John’s and St. Arnold’s effective January 28.
