DETROIT LAKES - The Grand Lighting Ceremony for King Isbit's Ice Palace begins tonight (Thursday, Feb. 8) at 7pm kicking off the annual Detroit Lakes Polar Fest celebration. The Ice Palace is 32-feet-high, 600,000 pounds and made of solid ice harvested from the lake itself.

Polar Fest runs through President's Day, Monday, Feb. 19 and includes events like the Poles 'n Holes Fishing Derby, Polar Explorer Ann Bancroft, a Great Polar Race, an expanded Polarpalooza Tubing Night, Polar Fest Plunge and more! A full list of events can be found at http://polarfestdl.com/
