Hawley Elementary School forced into Lockdown

HAWLEY (KDLM) - Hawley Elementary went into lockdown after a wanted man ran from law enforcement Monday.
At approximately 12:20pm, Monday, a male that was wanted on a Minnesota Department of Corrections warrant ran on foot in the area of the 800 Block of 9th Street.
Hawley Police requested the assistance of a K-9 from the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
The Hawley Elementary was in the middle of the lunch recess. Due to the proximity to the schools, the school administration was contacted and the decision was made to cut recess short and the school went into an administrative lock-down while the K-9 unit was deployed.
The male subject was not located. The male is a 31 yo, native american male, 6'2", 200lbs, last seen wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt and black shorts.
