OTTER TAIL (KBRF) - An area superintendent faces misdemeanor charges in Otter Tail County District Court after a vehicle went through the ice on Otter Tail Lake last month and concerns arose that another man would be arrested for drunken driving.
Hawley School District Superintendent, 56 year old Philip Jensen of Ottertail, faces two counts of obstructing the legal process. Facing the same charges in the incident are 51 year old Michelle Jensen of Ottertail, and 32 year old Zachary Jensen of Fargo. The charges stem from a vehicle-through-the-ice case on February 3rd and discrepancies in stories of who was driving at the time. The superintendent's attorney declined to make a statement as the case is still pending.
The Hawley School Board Vice Chairman, Todd Heidberg, said the board is aware of the situation and is letting the legal process take its course. Philip Jensen's next court appearance is a pretrial hearing set for April 3.
