HAWLEY, MN--Minnkota Electric Transmission Line Work will cause a Scheduled City wide power outage. The City of Hawley says they will have a six hour planned power outage from 11pm tonight to 5am Friday. This outage is needed to complete the installation of a new switch tower east of town that will help increase the long-term reliability of power in the city.

Work during the outage is being performed by Minnkota Power Cooperative, the city's wholesale power provider. The city says personnel will safely install a switch structure and three transmission line poles, which will help build redundancy into the power delivery infrastructure serving the city.
