Hennessey Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison For Stealing from Ashby Elevator

FERGUS FALLS, MN--The former manager of the Ashby Farmer’s Cooperative Elevator was sentenced Friday morning at the federal courthouse in Fergus Falls to 8 years in prison. Judge John R. Tunheim, told Jerry Hennessey that he was to serve 96 months for the mail fraud conviction and 60 months for the income tax evasion charge. He will serve these sentences concurrently, followed by three years of supervised probation. The judge also imposed a mandatory fine of just over $5 million due immediately.
Before being sentenced, Hennessey was tearful and told the judge he was remorseful and didn’t know what he was thinking and that he was “now broke”.
Hennessy is expected to report to the Federal Prison Minimum Security Camp in Duluth on July 29th to begin serving his time.
