UNDATED--The state patrol handled three separate crashes with snow plows Tuesday morning on I-94. One in Otter Tail County involved minor injuries. According to the Patrol, a snow plow and a minivan were westbound in the left lane when the minivan rear ended the snow plow as it was plowing the left lane. The minivan, driven by Kim Douglas Bierdeman of Clitherall, was transported to the hospital in Fergus Falls with non life threatening injuries. The plow driver was not injured according to the State Patrol. The accident happened just after 9:20am Tuesday near milepost 51 on I-94. According to State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow, the state patrol statewide during yesterday's snowy conditions handled 288 crashes, 46 of which involved injuries and one fatality and 68 vehicle spin outs or vehicles off the road happening between Midnight and 3:00pm
The fatal accident happened in Two Harbors just after 10:00am Tuesday on Highway 61 Scenic Drive when a northbound car appeared to have lost control, cross into the southbound land and made contact with a southbound car. The driver of the southbound vehicle, 18 year old Ashley Billiot of Superior, WI was killed. The 24 year old female driver from Grand Marais in the northbound vehicle sustained non life threatening injuries.

Two Injured in Highway 10 Accident
A Brainerd woman and a two year old child were injured in a two vehicle accident on Highway 10 near Staples Tuesday morning. According to the State Patrol, a Ford pickup in a median cross over east of Staples near Trapper Drive failed to yield to westbound Chevy Impala. The State Patrol says the driver of the car, 25 year old Misty Mahto of Brainerd and her passenger, a 2 year old male child, were transported to the medical center in Staples with non life-threatening injuries. The pickup driver, a 70 year old Staples man, was not injured according to the State Patrol. The accident happened just after 10:30am Tuesday.
