Hundreds Finish Beardsley Races Saturday in Detroit Lakes

DETROIT LAKES, MN--It was a cool and overcast morning but perfect for running Saturday in Detroit Lakes as hundreds of runners completed the 24th Dick Beardsley Half Marathon. Four-hundred-74 runners, 210 men and 264 women, crossed the finish line for the 13.1 mile race around Detroit Lake. The overal winner was 31 year old Adam Pangrac from Moorhead finishing in one-hour-13-minutes and 37-seconds (1:13:37). The top female finisher was 32-year-old Josie Danz of Fargo who finished in one-hour-24-minutes and eight-seconds (1:24:08) just 19 seconds ahead of the 2nd place female 26-year-old Jaci Wilson of Fergus Falls (1:24:27). The race's namesake, Dick Beardsley, also was among Saturday's half-marathon finishers. The 63-year-old from Bemidji finished in 1:57:29. The start and finish had been moved to the Kent Freeman Arena this year.
In the 10K, 248 runners (79 men, 169 women) completed the race. And 192 runners (72 men, 120 women) completed the Andy Beardsley 5K Memorial run
