DETROIT LAKES, MN--A dry March in the books for 2017 with only three days with traces of snow recorded. Weather statistics for the third month have been compiled by Leighton Broadcasting's Marty Hembre. The average daytime high was 37 degrees with the warmest day in March recorded on the 6th at 63-degrees. The coolest daytime high temperature was 15-degrees recorded on March 12th. The average overnight low was 15-degrees with the coldest overnight low of minus 7-degrees on March 10th and 11th. The warmest overnight low was 32-degrees recorded the five evenings March 20th, 24th, 26th, 27th and 29th. Traces of snow fell on three days with the most snow, 7-hundredths of an inch, on March 13th. Three days of rain with .16 of an inch recorded on March 24th. The total snowfall for 2017 remains at 17.5 inches, the precipitation for the year so far is 2.41 inches. The total snow for the winter, November through March, remains at 46.25 inches. The total precipitation for the winter November through March is 7.70 inches.
