DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) - Live bands aren't likely to play at Detroit Lakes Zorbaz this summer.
Detroit Lakes Zorbaz hasn't applied for a noise permit from the city that would allow it to host live music until midnight during the summer.
On Memorial Day weekend a neighbor complained to police that a band playing at Zorbaz was too loud. The band was ordered to shut down at 11:15pm.
The city's noise ordinance begins at 10pm and requires that music cannot be audible over 50 feet away from the source.
Last year, Zorbaz was cited for violating the city's noise ordinance on three seperate occasions. In response the city council voted to suspend Zorbaz' 2 a.m. liquor license for three days.
