DETROIT LAKES, MN--May was the first month of no snow in 2017. The local weather statistics for the fifth month of the year have been compiled by Leighton Broadcasting's Marty Hembre. The snowfall total for November through April will remain at 47.25 inches. The area did see some rain in May. There were 12 days rain fell. The most rain was .60 inch on May 21st. The total rainfall/precipitation for May was 1.72 inches which brought the year's total (Jan. through May) to 5.98 inches.  The average daytime high temperature was 65 degrees. The warmest temperature was 80-degrees on May 14th. The coolest daytime temperature was 46 degrees on May 20th. The average overnight low temperature was 41 degrees. The coolest overnight low temperature was 30 degrees on May 12th.
