DETROIT LAKES, MN--The Lakers Girls Swim and Dive team ended their regular season with a big win (135-51) over Bemidji Tuesday night at the DLCCC pool. The Lakers dominated the meet with first-place finishes in all 12 events and the 200 freestyle relay team of Evan Westrum, Jennifer Tracy, Lucy Steinke and Kaitlyn Peterson set new School and Pool records with their time of 1:42.40 (one-minute-42-point-four-seconds). Head Coach Carol Fischer said the girls on the relay knew they were close to breaking the school record a number occasions this season, and Tuesday night turned out to be the night and in front of a home crowd.

"It was two [records] for Tuesday, I guess," said Fischer.

Seniors Chelsy Johnson, Lucky Steinke and Jackson Hegg were also recognized Tuesday night during a brief ceremony for "Senior Night".

The Lakers will be back in action at the DLCCC pool Friday for the Mid-State Conference meet with Park Rapids, Perham and Staples-Motley. Diving finals start at 3:30pm and Swimming finals at 6:00pm.
