DETROIT LAKES, MN--A Minneapolis man is handed a sentence of over 10 years in prison for drug dealing in Detroit Lakes and a weapon violation.  Thirty-six year old Jermaine Henderson was arrested last November following a drug task force investigation in which authorities observed Henderson selling heroin out of a Detroit Lakes motel. Further investigation involving a warranted search of the room by authorities turned up drug paraphernalia associated with selling drugs as well as a .25 caliber handgun, meth and cash.  Henderson has prior convictions for 2nd-degree murder from 1999 and third degree assault from 2012 which prohibit him from possessing a firearm. Henderson was sentenced Wednesday in Becker County District Court to 120 months at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility for first degree drug sale and also 60 months for the firearm violation. Two charges, a first and a fifth degree, for drug possession were dismissed.
