(Undated) -- Minnesota parks are offering quiet areas for military veterans on July 4th. Officials with the DNR say state parks and recreation areas offer a firework-free environment for those sensitive to the lights and sounds of the annual Independence Day celebration. Active military personnel and veterans with a service-related disability are able to get a free year-round vehicle permit with unlimited access to all 75 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas.
