(KNSI) - The Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport is getting a $17 million facelift.
All four food courts inside the main terminal at MSP are being revamped. Some brands, such as the long-closed Chili's Restaurant are being refurbished, new brands will be introduced and others will be expanded or phased out.
This is the most expansive remodel of the airport's food courts in more than a decade.
The Metropolitan Airports Commission says having a variety of dining options is growing increasingly important to travelers as airlines have reduced complimentary in-flight food options.
The remodel is expected to last until December 2019.
MSP International is the 16th busiest airport in North America, serving more than 38 million passengers per year. There are roughly 50 restaurants and coffee shops at the main terminal alone.
