Naytahwaush Man Dies After Leaving His Stuck Vehicle In Search for Help

MAHNOMEN, MN--The body of a Naytahwaush man reported missing Monday morning was found Monday afternoon not far from the truck he'd ventured from the day before. According to the Mahnomen County Sheriff's office, a call of a missing person who hadn't returned home Sunday night was received around 9:30 Monday morning. According to the sheriff's office 33 year old Corey Bush went to the woods with his father-in-law to cut wood when their truck became stuck. Bush had left the truck to go for help saying he'd be back in a couple of hours, while the father-in-law stayed with the vehicle. The father-in-law stayed in the truck overnight and walked out of the woods Monday morning and got a ride home. A search for Bush ensued involving multiple agencies including the Mahnomen County Sheriff's office, White Earth Police Department, White Earth Forestry, Twin Lakes Fire Department, Mahnomen/White Earth Emergency Management and a State Patrol Airplane. The White Earth Police Department utilized a drone and the State Patrol utilized a thermal camera and a high powered scope. Bush's body was located by law enforcement around 3:00pm about a mile away from his truck. No foul play is suspected but an autopsy will be conducted in Grand Forks to determine the cause of death.
