Open Enrollment For Health Insurance Begins

(Undated) -- Open enrollment for Obamacare gets underway today, the first during the Trump administration. The President has called for letting the law implode. The administration has slashed the advertising budget for outreach and dismantled the subsidies insurance companies depended on in previous years to offer coverage. It's still the law of the land, however, after failed GOP attempts to repeal, and officials are moving forward. The enrollment period on healthcare.gov ends December 15th.
MNsure CEO Allison O'Toole says that around 16-hundred MNsure assisters are on hand starting today to help with health insurance open enrollment through MNsure. O'Toole is encouraging Minnesotans to comparison shop--and to see if they're eligible for federal tax credits. "Those tax credits last year averaged about $7000 a year and that is real money for Minnesota families and I want to make sure they know it's still available." O'Toole says.
The open enrollment period ends on January 14th.
