Ottertail Man in Serious Condition Following One Vehicle Accident Thursday

OTTERTAIL, MN--A 19 year old Ottertail male is in critical condition following a one vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in rural New York Mills on Otter Tail County Highway 52. According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department, phone call from a resident near the intersection of County Highways 52 and 67 reported hearing a loud squeal followed by a loud crash just after 4:00 pm Thursday. Deputies arrived at the scene a short time later and determined a passenger car driven by the 19 year old male had been traveling east on Hwy 52, veered off the road to the right, over corrected, traveled into the ditch on the left, collided with an approach, went airborne and came to rest against a tree. The driver was transported by ambulance to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena and later flown by Life Flight to St. Cloud with life-threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office didn't release a name but said the driver is in critical condition. The OTC was assisted by Henning Ambulance, the Minnesota State Patrol and New York Mills Fire Department.
