Pelican Rapids man Charged with Illegally Possessing Firearm

MINNEAPOLIS (KBRF) - The US Attorney’s office in Minneapolis has announced that a federal indictment has been issued, charging thirty-nine year old Anthony Dale Randklev of Pelican Rapids with illegally possessing a firearm stemming from an incident on July 22nd of this year in which he is already charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a rural Fergus Falls woman.
According to the indictment, the defendant possessed a Remington model 870 12-gauge shotgun. If convicted on the federal charge, Randklev faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison for just that charge alone now. He was previously convicted of multiple violent offenses, including assault, drug, and kidnapping convictions, which prohibit him, under federal law, from owning or possessing a firearm.
Randklev is also indicted in Otter Tail County District Court on three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as one count each of kidnapping, first-degree burglary, false imprisonment, felon in possession of a firearm, and fleeing a police officer. He is currently in custody in the Otter Tail County Jail.
