DETROIT LAKES, MN--A plane crash Tuesday evening in Becker County. The Becker County Sheriff's Office received the call of an airplane going down in a cornfield north of the Detroit Lakes/Becker County Airport just after 6:40pm. Deputies arrived at the scene and spoke to the pilot who walked away from the crash. Seventy-six-year old Theodore Kiebke of Detroit Lakes said he lost power to his single engine bi-plane and attempted to land in the cornfield. After going into the field, the plane flipped onto its top. The Sheriff's Office says Kiebke, the sole occupant of the plane, was transported to Essentia St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes with non-lfe threatening injuries. The FAA and Becker County Sheriff's Office are investigation the incident.

Other agencies assisting at the scene include Detroit Lakes Police, Detroit Lakes Fire Department and St. Mary's EMS.
