FERGUS FALLS (KBRF) - Police are warning the public about potential dangers when listing items for sale online.
A man and his wife were scammed out of nearly $2,000 in Fergus Falls this week when they attempted to sell their vehicle on Craig's List.
The couple was advised by their bank to report the incident. It all started when they received a fraudulent check in the amount of $4500 and sent a check back to the same party on Craig’s List for $1800.
Police urge caution when dealing with unknown people online, and that anytime a buyer sends you more than you were asking for to consider it fraudulent.
