Ponsford Man Charged in Hit and Run Accident

DETROIT LAKES, MN--A Ponsford man has been charged in the hit and run incident involving the serious injury of a bicyclist in Pine Point Township last week.
Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander says 35 year old Randy Lee Kettle was arrested late last week and charged Friday in Becker County District Court.
Kettle faces one count of Criminal Vehicular Operation--Great Bodily Harm and a felony domestic assault charge after the hit and run accident that critically injured bicyclist 44 year old Jarod Moran in rural Becker County Tuesday night. Moran was hit while bicycling on County Road 124 near the intersection of County Road 129 in Pine Point Township.
Kettle has an extensive criminal record with convictions for theft, domestic assault, fleeing officers, driving after license revocation.
Kettle is being held on 200-thousand dollars bail without conditions, 100-thousand with conditions. His next court appearance is July 31st.
Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander says he spoke with Moran's family and they indicated he is expected to recover, a long process but he will recover from his injuries.
