DETROIT LAKES (KDLM/TV3) - Positive Connections, the supervised visit program at Lakes Crisis Center allows parents to visit their children in a safe and supervised environment.
The Positive Connections program is filling a void in the Lakes Area says Anna Sellin, the Executive Director of Lakes Crisis Center.
The program serves children and their parents who have been involved in an unhealthy relationship or where conflict regarding parenting time has occurred.
In addition to parenting time and exchanges, the program also provides resources and referrals as well as court and social services documentation when required.
In 2011, Lakes Crisis Center became the 2nd agency of its type to also offer Parent Coaching. "If the parents and children are going to spend a significant amount of time in a supervised environment we wanted to offer a takeaway for the parent," says Selling.
