UNDATED--A 17 Year old juvenile male from rural Wadena was injured in a one vehicle crash caused by a steering wheel locking up Sunday morning at around 11:00 am. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says the 17-year-old, driving a 2005 Toyota Tacoma, was travelling eastbound on County Road 50 just west of Deer Creek when the young driver told authorities he was coming over a hill, when another vehicle pulled onto County Road 50 and the teen started to brake and the steering wheel locked up forcing the vehicle into the north ditch. The vehicle then rolled several times and landed on its wheels.
The 17 year old was transported to Tri-County Hospital by private vehicle and treated and released. The youth was wearing a seatbelt, but the Sheriff’s Office said the airbags in the vehicle did not deploy.
