MOORHEAD, MN- Firefighters from Moorhead and Fargo spent more than two hours searching the Red River for a Body after someone saw a man jump from the NP-Center Avenue Bridge.

Officials now believe that the man who jumped into the Red River made it to shore and was picked up.

Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Wallin said based on information from a witness, the man jumped from the NP-Center Ave. bridge, made it quickly to shore, and got into a car in a nearby parking lot. Someone may have video-recorded the events.

Earlier, a witness reported that a man jumped bridge at about 6:05 p.m. Tuesday.

According to reports firefighters from Fargo and Moorhead scrambled to the scene where they immediately launched boats, searching from the bridge and downstream.

Firefighters had been probing the river with poles in the search. Valley Water Rescue had been called to the scene, but divers did not enter the water.

The scene was cleared shortly before 9 p.m.
