FERGUS FALLS, MN — Severe weather in lakes country took out power to hundreds of people in Fergus Falls. Thunderstorms moved through the west-central Minnesota area late Sunday afternoon prompting several tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings. Funnel clouds were reported near Park Rapids

Otter Tail Power says around 550 customers lost power.

The Fergus Falls Fire Department advised residents to stay home while crews worked to clean up roads and restore power.

High winds coupled with hail downed trees and power lines Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service called the storm, "very slow moving." It began moving through the area around 3:00pm and exited by 7:00pm.
