Sheriff Seeks Hit and Run Information

FERGUS FALLS (KBRF) - The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a possible hit and run accident that occurred on South Central Avenue in Brandon.
The sheriff’s office received a 911 call shortly before 10 Tuesday night of an elderly man on the roadway bleeding from the head. Deputies arrived and found the 91-year-old lying on the roadway with multiple injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The caller informed deputies that he was driving and noticed a person laying in the roadway. The caller was able to swerve to avoid hitting the man.
The victim was transported to the Douglas County Hospital for treatment. Deputies were able to speak to him about the incident. The victim stated he had left the Brandon Assisted Living Facility and was walking when he fell in the roadway. The victim stated he was struck by a vehicle after falling.
The sheriff’s office is looking for a vehicle that was in the area around the time of the incident. The driver and occupants of the vehicle may have important information regarding the incident. The vehicle is described as a “clean” newer white sedan, possibly a Chevy Malibu or similar body style. If anyone has information about the incident, they’re asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim remains hospitalized but the extent of his injuries is not known.
