Social Security Administration Watches Social Media

(Washington, DC) -- The Social Security Administration has its eye on people's social media posts in an effort to crack down on attempted fraud. For example, a person may be claiming disability benefits because of a back injury, but then they're shown playing baseball or golfing in a picture posted on Facebook. Supporters say this makes sense as part of a larger effort to stop paying disability to people who are actually able to work. The problem, according to opponents, is that there's no way to tell when the picture was actually taken so some people may be targeted unfairly.
