A Soggy June

DETROIT LAKES, MN--June was the wettest month yet in 2018 and for the sixth month compared to the last two years. Local weather statistics compiled by Leighton Broadcasting's Charlie Newland show we had 12 days of rain. The most rain fell on June 17th when we recorded 1.96 inch. The total rain for June was 5.41 inches which was highest recorded for June compared to 2017 when we recorded 3.38 inches and in 2016 when we recorded 2.74 inches for the month. The total precipitation for 2018 through June is 9.58 inches. Unlike May, we felt no 90-degree days. There were three of those in May. June's average daytime high temperature was 78 degrees. The warmest high temperature was 86 degrees that was recorded on June 27th, 28th and 29th. The coolest daytime high was 63 degrees recorded on June 3rd. The average overnight low was 58 degrees. The coolest overnight low was 41 degrees on June 4th. The warmest overnight low was 68 on June 13th and the 16th.
