ST. PAUL, MN--The Catholic bishop of Minnesota's Crookston Diocese is being accused of interfering with a clergy abuse case. Bishop Michael Hoeppner is the first sitting bishop to be investigated under new Vatican rules for reviewing and disciplining bishops. The investigation will be overseen by Archbishop Bernard Hebda of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Victims' advocates say this will be a test case to determine if the new Catholic law actually holds bishops accountable.
