FARGO, ND-- Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen says plans are being made to expand the non-profit Thielen foundation. Thielen made the announcement while speaking at the One Million Cups event Wednesday in Fargo.
“We are going to partner with a high school in the Twin Cities that is in a tough, tough area; a lot of underprivileged youth” Thielen said. “We are going to provide them with a lot of different resources for school and sports.”
Thielen said that he also hopes to eventually include more schools from across the state. “It’s kind of a pilot program to see where it goes and how well it does. I think it will go really well and hopefully, we can bring that to a lot of different schools.”
Thielen, a native of Detroit Lakes, Minn, formed the foundation with his wife, Caitlin, in 2018.
The foundation’s website says its purpose is to “create programs that serve, educate and inspire individuals so they’re equipped and empowered to reach their full potential in life.”
