FERGUS FALLS, MN (KFGO) - Another sizeable marijuana bust on I-94. A Wisconsin woman and a woman from California are facing charges after a traffic stop on the interstate near Fergus Falls last Friday.
A state trooper made the stop after he noticed that the taillights and rear license plate of a car were covered with snow. A drug dog was called to an exit ramp.
About 300 lbs. of pot was found. It was in vacuum-sealed bags. The street value is estimated at $1-million. $4,500 cash and seven phones were seized.
It's the latest in a recent series of drug seizures on the interstate in Minnesota and North Dakota. The legalization of recreational pot in several western states is responsible for the increase in significant busts.
