Update: No Man With Gun Found at Walmart Following Evacuation

DETROIT LAKES, MN--Police are investigating after Detroit Lakes Walmart evacuated customers Wednesday night as police were alerted by a customer who reportedly saw a man with a gun enter the store. According to Detroit Lakes Police Chief Steve Todd, shortly before 8pm Wednesday evening, a customer in the Walmart parking lot observed a male with a handgun running towards the store entrance and the customer lost sight of him. The customer called Becker County Dispatch and law enforcement was dispatched to the scene. Chief Todd said the store was evacuated and locked down while law enforcement searched the building. Neither the subject nor the handgun were located. Todd says law enforcement will work with store security to review video surveillance in an attempt to identify the male. Chief Todd said no one was threatened or assaulted during the Wednesday incident and the store has reopened for business.
