HAWLEY, MN--The Clay County Sheriff's Office says the pilot who died when he crashed a small, ultralight aircraft at the Hawley airport Thursday was from Vergas. Killed was 69-year-old Bradley Gibb. The ultralight caught fire. A bystander was treated at the scene for minor injuries. He tried to pull Gibb from the wreckage. The National Transportation Safety Board has taken over the investigation. A preliminary report from the FAA says the plane crashed under "unknown circumstances."
